  • It's a myth that heartrate in utero will tell your baby's sex.

  • My son's heart rate was always 152-155. But my current little boy that I'm pregnant with's heart rate has been 125-130. So I don't believe the heart rate wives tell. But if you're craving more sweets and your face breaks out or your hair is getting stringy, little girl. Craving cheese, lemon products, or your nipples are turnin brown colored, it's a littleboy.

  • Hm. I read Amy's post and thought - yeah- both of my boys I craved savory foods- mashed potatoes, fish sandwiches. I'd never heard of that before. :)

Anyway, that's off topic, I know.

I had heard that a girl's heart beat is faster, but as kjrn says, I don't know how true that is.

  • Yes it is a boy or a girl.

One gender having a different pulse has been scientifically dis-proven...

  • My nipples turned brown with my pregnancies...
    But I had girls.

But now I know that it's hormonal --nature has designed literally a target. Babies can see what they are going for~ the nipple, more easily.

The heart rate changes as the fetus ages. Changes are based on age not gender.

  • My sons heart rate was always 130-135 and my daughters was 150-160. It's anybodys guess though since i know some have had boys with high heart rates. My midwives guessed from my kids heart rates and were right both times.
