  • I always dye hair before I wash it, so I think it really does work better. besides your supposed to put it on dry hair so it really would take more work to wash it, then dry it, then dye it and dry it again.

  • It does. It's best when your hair hasn't been washed a day or two.
The oils from your hair grip and absorb the dye well, and the oils in your hair works as a natural moisturizer.

  • i would recommend washing it the day before, and going easy on styling products. too much product in the hair will not allow the color to penetrate properly. if your hair is dry, going without washing it to let the natural oils moisturize isn't the answer. you may need to use a protein-rich conditioner the day before, to help ensure even color penetration/even out the porosity.

  • Usually it is done so that your scalp does not get irritated. You know that burn feel you get ? If you don't wash your hair you won't feel it.

  • Your just not suppose to wash it for 24hrs before you dye your hair. Its not just is better to have some of your natural oils in it when you do dye your hair. You're also only suppose to wash your hair every other day to prevent drying it out

  • I think your not supposed to wash dry then dye, I think if you wash the night before then dye its best. as long as you dont have product like hairspray or gel in it.

  • well, the dye isn't gonna stick and absorb if your hair is greasy and dirty. it's best to wash then dry then apply.
