when you say separation of church and state is meant to keep state out of the church and not church out of the state, which church do you mean?

Which church is allowed to interfere witnlg the state according to your interpretation? Should we live under Sharia? Have the summer solstice be a bank holiday? Perhaps Do what thou wilt should be the law of the land?

Maybe women shouldn't be allowed to wear pants, as they are apparel that pertains to a man? Which religion gets to have a say?

  • Separation of church and state means the church stays out of the state and the state stays out of the church. Neither should interfere with the other.

  • Have the summer solstice be a bank holiday?

Can we do Spring Equinox instead? Spring is when we have that really long stretch of months with no days off. The rest of the year there's at least one every 7 weeks or so.

  • Actually if you studied history, you would know that the first amendment was written to PROTECT religion not deny it. Most of the states had a state sponsered religion. They wanted to protect that by not choosing one over the other.

  • I wasn't denying any religion, actually asking the question because of some arguments made in other sections.
