Civil Service Tests/Jobs

Has anyone ever taken the civil service test for PA? Where do you find the information as to what is on the test and where to take it? I found some information but it all charges you...!? And how does this process work? What kind of jobs would this open up for me?

  • At least here in CA, a civil service test will be based on the job. Someone applying to be a nurse at the county health department would get a different test than someone applying to work in the public library and a would-be computer tech would get yet a different test, based on what's needed for the job.

  • Your local library probably has the prep book.

  • You really need to find some kind of focus on a type of job first before testing. There should be many tests offered at different times....not all given in any single year. Determine the specific job and test for it, then you'll be clued into how to study for it.
