It's about time!

I have thought about this for months and just now they are bringing it to light?
It seems obvious to me that Obama is misleading people is the fact that with all the new taxes on medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, insurance companies and businesses the middle class will be hit with higher costs and not the savings he has touted. A study done has come out with the number $4000 a year per family increase in premiums. Even if we were to cut that in half how many of you with private or employer provided ins can afford even $2000 a yr? This is something Obama knows well and hopes will happen. He knows our costs will go up and people will have no choice but to get into his governmnt plan. Anyone else have these thoughts?
Of course if you like your insurance you can keep it.......

  • If a government option "insurance" is allowed, we ALL will eventually be on it whether you want to be or not. Just like Canada.

  • The middle class will get hit hard in the end. Stats and figures indicate it. The middle class and I mean at $45,000 and up will get the blunt of HC, Cap and Trade and the Stimulus packages. Numbers don't lie but politicians the homework, people!

  • Health care, Cap and Trade or what ever they are calling it now, stimulus and other spending is going to hurt us all. I am for reform but that is not what is happening. I just see Obama scrambling and not having a clue what to do. He may hope this thing does not pass too at this point. If he has a soul he will hope it doesn't.

  • and you're just figuring this out now? on your own? really. seemed pretty darn obvious from the beginning - a school child could figure that out; as a matter of fact my 6th grader figured it out and did a paper on it for her Social Studies class.

  • What I can see coming is there will be no more middle class, only the very poor on government assistance or hanging by their fingernails to keep their heads above water, or the very rich. The middle class will have been taxed out of existance and when a country has a very few or no middle class that is when they achieve third world status. A large, healthy, thriving middle class is what makes a country strong.

  • I agree with anon :56, but soon enough we won't have a "very rich" catagory either. The rich are the ones who are supposed to be taxed the most according to what Obama wants (the top 5% right?), but eventually the rich will no longer have incentive to produce as much when so much of their money is going to those who won't work for themselves. Then the "rich" catagory starts getting lower and lower until the middle class is footing the bill for everything, and eventually middle class won't be able to afford to pay so much in taxes either (not that we can to begin with).
