WIC in NYS... Do they give you a breast pump, or let you rent it?

When do they give it to you for fee, or do you have to pay for it? Do they wait for the baby to get here, or give it to you ahead of time??

  • Im all the way over in Oregon, but WIC told me that I could have a breast pump free from them if 1. I was breastfeeding exclusively- no supplementing with formula and 2. if I had to go to work/school. They wouldnt give me a pump, even let me rent it, if I could be home with baby. Good luck!!

  • it might depend on the county because i live in genesee and they didnt even ask if i needed one, and when i told them i was looking the lady told me a brand that she liked when she was breastfeeding. it never hurts to ask though
