  • De-clutter. You probably have tons of stuff that is prime for a yard sale. Plan to do the yard sale this weekend or next and make yourself go through the house and get it all together. Do it NOW is the best advice. If you let it wait, it won't happen.

After the yard sale, donate the left overs. You can get a tax write-off form at the Goodwill. That will improve your future cash flow.

Designate spots for your kids to put their own things away. A "milk crate" style bin is great for dumping graded homework that they will throw out at the end of the semester or school year. Sometimes they need to hang on to their assignments. They need a toy box. The dog needs a toy box. Your DH needs a toy box.

Put hooks up on the walls. Hang keys. Hang jackets. Hang wet umbrellas. Stop shoving stuff in over packed closets. Plus, sell off stuff in those closet at your yard sale!
