Israel war crimes? It just gets better and better ..

Lincoln stated many years ago, “Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and be confirmed a fool”.

A general consensus of the free world has considered the UN being useless organization of incompetents and radicals. Yesterday they opened their mouths an accused the Israeli government of being war criminals, and confirmed everyone’s suspicions. The UN has has an agenda of radical reform and turning a blind eye to the real travesties, ethnic cleansing, hunger and devastating diseases of third world countries.

  • The U.N.’s Human Rights Council will hold a special session on Thursday to discuss a controversial report accusing Israel of war crimes, after the Palestinian Authority secured sufficient support for the meeting from Islamic states and mostly leftist allies.  The Bush administration shunned the HRC, in part for what it regarded as a fixation on the Jewish state while other situations around the world were ignored or played down.

Israel, which says it launched the assault in response to years of Hamas rocket attacks, has warned that the explosive report could kill the Israeli-Palestinian “peace process” and harm counter-terrorism efforts everywhere.

  • I wish someone would explain to me the difficulty the nations of the region have with Israel. I have heard too many different explanations. There should be one encompassing reason. We don't like Israel because _____________. Israel had the land Jerusalem sits on long before the rest of the nations that claim it were there. Israel doesn't send suicide bombers in to kill innocent by-standers. Israel didn't retaliate when Saddam sent his scud missiles to Israel to just blow-up anything it hit. Scuds, his "shot and forget" dumb bomb. So, I just don't get it. Israel just wants to be left alone. So, leave them alone and them be.

    No, it hasn't.

And for jesse, it is not true that Israel had the land long before. Israel did not exist until 1948, when it declared itself independent of Palestine. The problem cannot be put into a simple sentence, it is a complicated mess of religion, war, and crimes on both sides, with extremists ruling on both sides. Very sad.

  • The Israeli government is guilty of war crimes. Do you not consider gunning down unarmed children fleeing the IDF out of fear a war crime? What about depriving people of their livelihood without just cause? I could go on, doubt you'd care though.

  • Israel was given some land by the UN. In 1967(?) Israel was attacked by 6 arab countries. Israel pushed back and won. To stop ongoing attacks from being launched out of strategically advantageous spots, Israel took over some square miles beyond its original borders.

At the end of that war, Israel offered to withdraw from this land as part of the negotiations for peace. But one of Israel's requirements for negotiation was that its enemies cease to call for the annihilation of Israel and all Israelis.

For 42 years, Hamas et al have refused to agree to that. ... There is NO way to negotiate with someone who wants you dead.
