  • All carbohydrates are turned to glucose in the digestive system, which then raises your blood sugar (glucose) for your body to use for energy. NO food on this earth that I know of will deliberately lower your blood sugar. Exercise will.

To avoid raising blood sugar you have to avoid eating carbs, not a healthy way to eat. Foods with carbs provide the majority of nutrition.

You can eat foods lower in carbs, like lean meats, tomato juice (lots of vitamins, low carb), certain dairy products like cheese (calcium),& foods that are high in fiber compared to the carbs, like cooked dry beans & lentils (high in iron, too). Learn about net carbs, which is the carb count minus the fiber count in grams. Read labels. Steamed or fresh veggies (except for peas, winter squash or potatoes) are all low carb while loaded with nutrition. Avoid pasta & most cereals & breads, fruits (have natural sugar), fruit juices, & sugary drinks

  • the phrasing of this question makes it almost impossible to answer.
there is no food item that one can consume to lower a blood sugar reading other than water. and water is water not food. so..........what is the question? are you looking for foods that you can eat quickly to lower a high blood sugar?......or are you looking for foods that you can eat that won't raise your blood sugar as much? all consumed foods will raise your blood sugar to some degree some more than others.
so basically, answering your question- No, there are NO foods that you can eat to lower your blood sugar. You can drink water to help dilute your body fluids and that will have a lowering effect because of the increase in water volume but the original glucose amount will not drop.

  • or are you hypoglycemic and are trying to avoid low levels suddenly?
that would be easily remedied by concentrating on two types of food as a mainstay in your daily diet. Protein and fiber. Protein takes longer to breakdown and gives you a more constant steady supply of glucose/insulin without any drastic highs and lows. Fiber is a filler and basically will help the protein stay in your digestive system longer keeping you from getting hungry faster which may result in a rush to a sugary treat, and thus a following of high insulin and low glucose and i take it that is what you are trying to avoid? stick with high protein and fiber, stay away from any sugars that will overload you with insulin and a hypoglycemic episode following it soon after
