I'm thinking of turning an old bookshelf into a castle/dollhouse for my daughter for Christmas... any ideas?

I'm not artistic at all, but so far I've come up with:
* painting the bookshelf
* pattern contact paper for wallpaper
* maybe doors?
* push lights for lighting
* maybe scrapbook patterns for windows?

  • My SIL did something like this. She decorated shoe boxes with wallpaper and such and put them in a bookcase. Each box represents a different room. She bought dollhouse furniture for each of the rooms. I read this tip somewhere and thought it was a cute idea...if you have pictures printed out and you get the index sheet with the tiny pictures, frame those and hang them in the dollhouse. Your daughter can frame her favorite pictures and add a personal touch to her house.

  • popsicle sticks and make stairs. you could probably use them to make alot of things....refigerator, doors, beds, bench, table. you can buy the regular ones and the wider ones.
