Help! My 2-year-old won't nap for me!

My son has always been a pretty good sleeper . . . until a couple of weeks ago. He'll go to bed at night fine for me, but not nap! (I work 3 days a week, BTW.) He'll nap for my in-laws, my mom, and even my husband, but when I put him down, it's a battle of wills. I've tried changing up his nap times (he's usually a noontime napper, but that's not working with me), taking him for walks before naps, snacks, etc. We have a bedtime routine of 2 books, a cuddle, and a belly rub. Normally, he zonks right after that. GRRR! I'm 3 months pregnant with his sibling, and I really need my quiet time! But instead, he'll poop in his diaper and stay awake, or just talk really loudly in his crib. He doesn't cry (thankfully), but regardless, he hardly rests, let alone sleeps. Any suggestions???? THANKS!!!

  • As long as he's in his crib and 'resting' just let him be and shut the door & let him babble, he may eventually fall asleep. My daughter didn't want to nap one day so I just put her in there it took about 45 min but she finally fell asleep. Evenutally he'll lean who's boss!!

  • My daughter only naps a few days a week, just depending on wether she's tired or not. All four of my kids have come to a point at a certain age, where they hated their naps, I think it's just a phase. At least he's not crying!
