I am considering natural birth. Any thoughts?

Also if you know any books or websites I can look into, that would be appreciated.

  • I had all 3 natural. Breathe, that's the main thing! Have a focal point in the room, don't lay on your back the whole time, have your SO, or Hubby rub your back. It's been 6 yrs since my last so I'm a little rusty,lol.. GL, and CONGRATS!!

  • Louise2, that's not necessarily true.
I had 3 natural births and they really weren't that painful.
The contractions were somewhat painful, but that goes away, and is short term. I find ear infections to be more painful.
I guess it depends on the person.
    Meditation helps.
    Also look into Hypnobabies.

  • I dont have any advice. I just wanted to say Good Luck and I give you props for wanting to. I shudder at the thought. I have low pain tolerance.

  • If child birth is not PAINFULL. Then why do so many women want meds for the PAIN? So all the PAIN is in thows womens heads?
I don't think so. just because you had it easy. Does not mean she will. JMO

  • i had a natural birth and would not do it any other way. i read "easing labor pain" but i have heard great things about a few books like INA MAY'S GUIDE TO CHILDBIRTH, BIRTHING FROM WITHIN, THE THINKING WOMAN'S GUIDE, etc. so i want to order those to read during this pregnancy.

i had a painful birth but the pain is a lot less if you are prepared and confident in the physiological process of birth.

    congrats :)

  • It has a LOT to do with confidence, preparation, trust...
Are you reading and taking classes?
Who will be there with you?

If you feel good about this, then you can do it.
I have SO much info, it won't fit here. Can I message it to you?
    ;-D
