my mom bought my 8 month old a new car seat...a convertible one, and it seems to never be able to tighten really good...

the latch system is what we usually use, and for some reason the latch doesnt reach the hook on our car its about 3 inches too short even on the longest length.

so we said we'd do the seatbelt itself, well it does NOT get tight enough at ALL... no matter what i do.

could it be faulty??

  • this is the carseat it is, if anyone else has it, do you have problems with it as well?

  • no not faulty mine was and is the same way what u have to do is have u or ur so set in the car seat and lean it the way {the shorter side} and then u should be able to latch it...or go to ur local police department they will get it in for u thats what i had to do good luck

  • i tired leaning it all different way it it just would NOT work! it wa so frustrating lol i was seriously in there for like 45 min sweating trying to figure this out... the seat belt way if you pushed the carseat any direction it got EXTREMELY loose like would fall to the side.

ill try what you said again though latch system makes me feel more comfortable than the seatbelt itself it makes it soo tight

  • its rear facing, i followed the instruction on it, and for rear facing it says to use the two latches on the side and then there is one on the back which is only for forward facing....

  • Has the car ever been in an accident? If so, there's your problem.
