What could be more true?

Obama is not concerned about America getting a fair deal, he's trying to do what's best for the world. When you view every petty despot as morally equivalent to America, removing America's nuclear deterant is easy to rationalize. It simply doesn't matter to Obama if Russia gives up their nukes. Obama does not view the disproportionate might of America as a positive thing. He sees a reduction in US capability as a good thing in itself. If Russia reduces their arsenal that's just a nice bonus, but it isn't a requirement in his eyes.

  • This isn't about utopianism. When Michelle Obama said that she had been ashamed of America her entire life, she meant every word of it. Everytime the US acts in its own self interest against the wishes of the 'global community' the left in this country collectively cringes in shame. They would rather see the US marginalized than acting with a moral authority that they don't recognize. It isn't that they think everything will be roses, they just don't want to be embarrassed in front of their sophisticated friends.

The hard left suffers from a case of American self loathing

  • This is quite a biased question. You have your opinion that cannot be swayed, however, I do not agree that your assessment is true.

  • What could be more true ?

Actual history ... hard-won experience ... plain old reality.

Last time we treated Russia as an ally and gave them the benefit of the doubt, they swiftly invaded and subjugated Czechoslovakie, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Albania, Romania, and Hungary.

That subjugation, and the misery associated with every Socialist or Communist system, lasted for 75 YEARS !!

Is this something to callously and conveniently forget? Putin is well-known to share the attitude of the old Soviet guard.

THAT could be more true !
