Progressive Insurance-You know, the commercial with "Flo".

Anyone here have their auto insurance with Progressive Insurance?
I can't help think that we could be getting a cheaper rate. We ditched Allstate (higest insurance rates IMO ever) when the premium went up, and then went with Nationwide who we are currently with now. We only have one car insured with NW because we are using my father's car (who passed away) and still, it seems high!
We have our homeowners insurance with them as well!

  • When we were insurance shopping 6 years ago Progressive was the cheapest for us by far. My DH and I are both turning 25 this year so I'll be re-evaluating that when our premiums come due again. I dont' know how much this changes by location, but we have 2 older cars insured for $425 every 6 months (granted, we pay all at once which brings the price down from closer to $500)

  • I have had progressive in the past. I actually found the cheapest rates with e-surance. i dropped progressive b/c my premium was going up. In 2 years with e-surance I had a 10 dollar increase.

  • One thing to keep in mind is that most of these companies (Geiko, progressive, e-surance) also judge you by your credit score and change your premium by them.

  • We have safeauto... With Progressive our payment was going to be $62 a month, with AllState it was $65 with SafeAuto it's $53... Needless to say, we went with the cheapest. But what I will say is this. That cheap rate comes with strings! There is almost no coverage with that, it just keeps us legal.

  • I got the best deal with progressive. I never have to do anything ot renew. They keep giving me discounts every 6 months bc I'm a perfect driver. I do it all online-- no paper bills and auto-draft. That saved even more money.

My SO had a very "fast" past. They are the only company who will insure him. He loves them bc "No matter how many 120mph tickets I got, they didn't drop my coverage." Yes, he said that to me in front of my mom. Then said "I sold my sports car. Don't worry."

  • We've had progressive for about 5 years. Our rates have never gone up. We also have our homeowners ins through them(gets us a discount, as does the multicar) We has Allstate, Nationwide, and safe auto....all had higher rates then what we pay now. We insure 3 cars, 1 of which has full coverage. I love em!
