Has the Army stopped the stop loss pay for our soldiers?

My son, who was suppose to be getting out of the Army this Oct. was put on a stop loss. He is going over to Iraq at the end of this month for 12 months. Now they say that he won't be getting the 500.00 a month stop loss pay. Every where I read, it says that he should be getting it. He said it was for only certain groups. Is this true?

  • I was under the understanding that it is only given to those stoplossed while in theater and their tours extended. Meaning they get it if they are already in iraq/afganistan and they have to stay longer then their original orders state.

  • Stop loss affects lots of soldiers. Stop Loss Pay is drawn by only a few MOS' that are at critical levels.
