  • one thing i HATED when i was pregnant was people always telling me what was a good thing to do and what not to do...i got it from soooo many different people that after a while it drove me crazy! if you want to give something to your friend get the book what to expect when your expecting...EVERYTHING she might need to know is in that book....also they make another book by the same author called what to expect, the first year...i would get her this one too maybe...ANYTHING she will need to know are in these books...

  • Bottlefeed or breast do what works best for you and your child. Put your child FIRST no matter what. Tell your child that you love them all the time. Listen to your gut feelings about whatever comes about, mommys always know what's best for there child, try and sleep when the baby is sleeping, your house work will always be there, baby comes first. I hope that helps you out.

  • Listen to others, and think about what they say, but at the end of the day listen to your heart and do what is best for you and your family!

Being a good parent means having to make the tough choices that your baby cannot make for themselves!

  • Take advice...listen to it, process it but do it YOUR way---don't be swayed by others opinions if you don't agree

  • Know your child isn't perfect, and love them for who they are - warts and all. Know you, as a mom, are also not perfect, and also love yourself, warts and all.

Be the best mom you can be, and be fully involved as much as you can every step of the way, because they will only be each age once. But at the same time, don't lose sight of who you are as an individual, separate from being "mom". Not just for yourself, but for your kids, because they will learn how to parent - and keep their own identity, from watching how you do it.

    Keep a sense of humor.

Don't be afraid to be the bad guy.

  • There is nothing like family, never take them for granted.

  • Don't listen to other people's horror stories about how awful labor is, how breastfeeding "fails", or how awful parenthood is.

You are having a beautiful baby. It will be hard, but it will be the best thing you've ever done, the most rewarding. Don't let others scare you about it, or tell you how YOUR experience is going to be.

  • Get out, get moving and enjoy life with baby. Do not be afraid of everything you read or hear. Parent with your mind and heart... always listen to your gut!
