how can i get my puppy from jumping around the house?

  • If he is jumping up on people, hold your hand over his head but not touching. When he jump, he will hit his head on your hand. A few times of this & he will think that he will always hit his head and stop jumping.

    If he is running all over the house & jumping on furniture like an hyperactive toddler, take him outside and play with him. Puppies have a lot of energy and need lots of play & exercise.

  • they have special straps that goes acrossed the front legs and behind the hind legs that prevent them from jumping.Or you could try spraying him in the face with water.keep an empty two liter jug around and everytime he goes to jump slap it against your hand.i wouldnt hit him most dogs dont learn how to listen that way they just learn how to be scared of you.

  • Do mean jumping on people or counters or both? If he is jumping on people I would teach him that when he approaches people to sit when he gets to them instead of jumping. Get him started on all of his training and make sure that he has a strong sit and sit stay . If he is a big dog or going to be turn your back to him when he jumps, don't look at him, don't talk and don't touch him. If he is a small dog ignore him when he jumps and again don't touch, talk or look at him. If he is jumping when you are sitting down same thing but i would work on his sit or down. Make him earn everything.
