How do you get tabacco tar off the inside of your windshield?

My cars windshield really needs to be cleaned but everytime I try to clean it, it just gets really streaky from the tar. It was smoked in before I owned it and I have never been able to get it clean. Any suggestion?

  • Tashwitz: newspaper works to clean it with, too! Just bunch it up and spray the windshield, then wipe it with the newspaper. It should dry streak-free. :)

  • Does that stuff really work on that sticky tar coating? I have the same problem. I smoked before I got pregnant and my inside windshield is TERRIBLE, and everything I try just smears it.

  • Try vinegar straight to clean the tar off, or try a product called Greased Lightning You may need to clean it several times before the build-up comes off. Windex usually dosnt do well on tobacco tar build-up, so try a different product.
