  • I was new cloths before anyone in the house wears them. Not just the kids.

  • Yes. While you don't have the problem of other people trying them on first like you do with adult clothes, I've worked in receiving in a department store, and those clothes STINK to high heaven even just coming off the truck (airing them out on the rack obviously seems to help, but having smelled them right off the truck is hard to get out of my mind). I don't know what they do to them, but you can bet I'll do my best to wash it off.

Also, my baby has sensitive skin, and all of her clothes have to be washed in free & clear detergent or it will make her skin red and blotchy.

Do You Know What Toxic Chemicals Lurk in Your Clothing?

"Chemicals often used for finishing include formaldehyde, caustic soda, sulfuric acid, bromines, urea resins, sulfonamides, halogens, and bromines. Some imported clothes are now impregnated with long-lasting disinfectants which are very hard to remove, and whose smell gives them away."

  • I wash all clothes before using them regardless of who they are for.

  • YES - ALL new clothes (used too of course - I wash those with a sanitizer/disinfectant!) for ALL members of our family! The only exception - hubby's jeans, he usually wears them before I can wash them, which is no biggie.
