There is no such thing as the devil or hell

Im confused...So the bible speaks of the Devil, aka Satan, being the dweller of Hell. Yet he refers to Peter as "a" Satan. So which is it? Is Satan his own person/spirit? Or is Satan a word used to descibe a person? Matthew 16: 18/23
Also, the bible says in Matthew 3:12, 13:42 that Hell is a furnace of fire (and must therefore be light). But in Matthew 8:12, 22:13, 25:30 Hell is an "outer darkness" (and therefore dark).

Which is it?

  • I serve God. What gave you the impression that I don't? Believing in the Bible isnt the only way to serve God, I thought you knew. And for the record the Bible is FULL of mistakes from translation to interpretation, and even contradictions. Not to mention books that have been removed. If you cant help then don't respond to my question.

I encourage you to read the passage about Peter.. read it in context ... It will show you right there what Jesus meant when He spoke to Peter like that.

Yes these two exist but thats not what is important. What is important is who God IS in your own life and who YOU are in Him. That is more important than who the devil is, what hell is and so forth!

Anonymous... I am willing to test you on that :-) Tell em why and where you think that God made a mistake? I guarantee you that you you will be blown away!

No the bible isn't full of mistakes.... books being removed were not mistakes... each were for a reason. There are no contradictions either. :-)

  • i dont think that sugamamma is trying to confuse anyone, she was just asking a question. those are good questions. God wants us to learn about him and if someone is confused about something they should ask.
