What else can I do to bring his fever down?

Tylenol/Motrin
Cold bath
Cold liquids
Cold rags

He went into the ER last night, they said it's the flu, nothing can be done and sent us home. I cannot get his fever below 103. It's 105 atm.

  • My sons has been 105....I sort of panicked inside...but kept my cool on the outside. I rotated both meds...and put him in a cool bath......

  • are you cuddling him? try not too...i mean you can but not too much, cuz that's creating body heat and could make it go higher. take his clothes off, and cover him with a light blanket so he doesn't get too cold

  • Do NOT give a cold bath, that can put him in shock. Put him in a lukewarm bath. Alternate Motrin and Tyenol. Keep him hydrated. If the fever stays at 105, take him back to the ER, that is not a safe temp.

  • 105 isn't dangerous these days. even for an 11 month old they don't start worrying until 106. i know, my son went through it at that age, and they had us sit in the ER for hours
