  • I wouldn't. I waited until all of mine turned 3. It only took 3 days. If you do it now you will be creating so much work for yourself.

  • That is a start, but the key is if they tell you before they actually do it. Plus, a lot of kids under the age of two don't have the muscle control needed to hold themselves, so even if he is mentally ready, his body may not be able to catch up yet. Therefore, if you tried it now and that was the case... he would likely just become frustrated at KNOWING he needed to go, but not being able to wait long enough. Most kids by two have the muscle control needed. That said, if you just wanted to "introduce" him to the concept and see how he does... buy the potty chair and just let him sit on it from time to time. If he does go in it, let him know it's a good thing. If he doesn't, just stand him up and go about your day. I'd keep the diapers for now though. When you begin to notice him removing his diapers, going hours at a time without wetting them, and showing an interest in the chair... switch him to "big boy" undies.

  • you can start, but chances are he won't be potty trained fully till almost 3. But if he is interested in useing the potty, then let him. Just don't push it.

  • It really depends on your child--some kids might potty train at this age--mine was interested in the potty and wanted to use it at 18months and thats when we started potty training--at first she thought it was exciting, but then it became old news and its been alot of two steps forward and one back--she's almost 3 now and even though she's in undies all day, she still has several accidents a day.

  • Studies have shown that children that began potty training before 2 aren't fully potty trained (no accidents) at 4 years old, but those who start at 2 1/2 or 3, are fully potty trained by the time they are 3... quote from a book I have.
