Sponsoring a walk-a-thon

My neighbors came over to ask me to sponsor them in a walk-a-thon. I agreed, but only for $20. I explained to them I don't have a checking account but would be more than happy to give them cash.
They told me they would be back in a week to collect the money (Wednesday or Thursday).
They never came. Should I go looking for them, or should I just shrug it off.
I don't know how this is supposed to work, I've never done this kind of thing before...

Would you change your answer if I told you I no longer have a source of income-I did when I offered the money?

  • If you offered the money and they come for it---then give it to them.

I wouldnt hunt them down but have it on hand if they show up---maybe give it a week past when they said they would be there...then forget about it---
