Pug owners.......

how is the dander on them? We've been advised that this is the year to get rid of our cat, as sons asthma is not improving whatsoever.

We're seeking a "replacement" to help the kids transition .... really hoped for a gerbil or hamster but the shavings and dust are too much

Is a pug allergy friendly?

  • All I have to say is that they are very stubborn. They are very hard to house trane and do not obey. I stay away form a small dog. Especially a pug

  • Nope-pugs are one of the top three shedding dogs out there. They are also known for having skin problems. I am a groomer and have seen it all. Your best bet for low dander are the poodle type hair. Poodle mixes or a poodle. There really is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog-and don't let a "breeder" tell you there is. There are just some dogs that have less dander. If you are having trouble with a cat I would say get a fish-anything else with hair is going to have a degree of dander and you would end up having to get rid of yet another pet-when the shelters are so full. If you decide to try a dog have your son around the dog for a few hours and then go home and see how he does. If you do get a dog, please get one from a shelter or a rescue-and there are a ton of poodle mixes in both.
