  • not really my husband tried teaching me in 2 different cars...i do ok once i get out of first gear

  • Yes. My Mother insisted we learn how to drive a stick first. Once you know how you can drive anything.

  • Yup makes it easier to find a new car and borrow one if you have to. My sister cannot and one time she needed my truck to get something and instead of simply trading vehicles for the day she had to wait until I had time after work to go get her, such a PIA that DS'S first car is a stick to be sure he learns!

  • Yeah...thats all I'll drive cuz the damn automatics take to long to speed up
    LOL...when you drive stick you can just shift down and pass everyone...need for speed, LOL

  • Yes, my dad taught me when I was 15. I didn't drive an automatic until I was 23. While I enjoy driving a stick shift, I found it much safer driving an automatic after having a child. I still drive my husband's stick shift car every once in a while.
