does any know how much it cost to get gas for heat in your home?

My baby is due in 3 weeks. It is cold in the 40s and 30s. We have no heat. We live in an older mobil home, it has small openings in the windows. We have been using 2 electirc heaters but they do not work to well. The heat is gas heat, but the lady we bought this trailor from did not tell us an estimate on the price. Id appreciate some estimates if you have any. Thanks. I didnt really know where to post this question...

  • Is it propane? do you have a big tank in the yard? If so, you need to call the local propane company as they will fill for natural gas, call the utility company.

  • well idk because i have boiler heat, but my parents 3500 sq ft house its about 275-300 a month in the winter so i don't think it should be that much for you

  • We have a gas furnace and it is pricey. We have a big old house with not great windows and insulation, so while we can keep the house warm, we can also have bills of up to $450 - $500 a month. But we also have temps of down to -40, and we can easily have averages of -30 for days and weeks. It may be costly to heat your home with gas, but you have to have it warm for the baby. I'd suggest getting those window kits to keep drafts from coming in and over time adding insulation to the walls.

  • We own a double, each apartment is about 1200 sq. ft. and the gas bill for heating our home during the winter is in the $80-$140 range. Right now it's about $80, but when it's cold enough to be on all the time it'll be closer to the $140.

National Fuel has a balance billing plan where instead of paying what you use each month it's averaged over the course of the year. We are switching to the balance billing which means our bill (based on lasts years average) will be $88 a month, BUT this is even during the summer months when normaly the gas bill is about $ can fluctuate and be raised or lowered by as much as $20 a month, but it stays pretty close to what they quote now.
