  • Sure it is. You can start on "solids" now. I started on veggies first. Sweet potatoes actually. You can even make your own baby food. Boil with a little water until they are soft enough and then puree them. You can freeze individual serving sizes using an ice cube tray...they are typically 1 spoon full so easy to keep track of how much food your little one is eating. Pop the food out of ice cubes tray and store in zip lock baggies. Or you can just get stage 1 things at the store. Avacado was another easy thing, that requires no boiling, and mixes with just about any fruit or veggie. And it's super great nutrients are good for babies brain development. • Your doctor might tell you to wait until 6 months, but we started my DD at 4 months. She wouldn't take rice cereal, but did like the oatmeal, and other types like that, try those. We started her on veggies at 5 months, and just a heads up, start on veggies first because if you start on fruit they will only grow to like sweet and wont ever like veggies.

  • well for bf babies is recommened to wait six mts. also solids should follow the nursing so. you are still going to nurse the same amount just now u are adding solids

  • IMO, he's too young. Even for cereal, but I don't like infant cereal at all. We skipped it. If he's refusing, he's likely not ready. I'd wait until at least 6 mos, and puree or cut up very small some soft veggies/fruit. In the first year, ALWAYS nurse first. Solids are just for fun.

  • i started at 4 months. my doctor told us too. you cant just give him just cereal though, you have to mix it with fruit, like applesauce and make sure its nice and warm when you give it to them or else it will taste like shit and they wont like it. i heat the formula up in a pan, mix it with cereal and applesauce. u can do the same thing but with breastmilk.

  • I didn't start either of my kids on that stuff til at least 10 months. But neither of them had anything but breastmilk or formula until at least 6 months.

  • The NEW recommendation according to all new medical research is that its BEST to wait til 6 months for breastfed babies. THIS makes sure that babies get the optimum nutrition for as long as possible.
