  • You can search for jobs that match your skillset and have a telecommute or remote option. Do you have a former employer you could work for remotely? If you have a computer with high speed internet & Microsoft Office Pro & have at least intermediate MS Office skills, you should be able to find work as a virtual assistant (VA). For more information, go to,, . Do you have a skill or experience that you can turn into a home based business? I have a friend who makes children's hair accessories in her basement & sells them to boutiques around the Midwest. My husband runs a handyman business from our home. I work from home with two lines of business; I do freelance bookkeeping & business organization; I also do career & job search coaching

  • I used to sell Bittersweet Candles a few years back. The candles are awesome, and I still purchase them from other sellers. The margin of profit is good, the candles sell themselves especially since women love candles, and I never even did one party (because I hate selling parties). No quotas, no parties if you choose, no inventory stocking, I enjoyed it, but don't have the extra time anymore to do it.

  • I have started looking into work at home ideas that aren't your typical selling. I like helping people but I am bad at selling. There are websites where you can post stories, reviews, photo essays, etc. on tons of topics and you earn money for your submissions based on readership, etc. There is also I believe a website called which has articles on how to get started and they also list jobs on their site. So this might be an alternative to the selling home based business.
