  • For.

But I imagine the 50% of the country that doesn't pay income tax, would be against it. LOL

  • It's more logical than the current system we have in place.

  • The current system is too political. Just think how much LESS corruption there would be in Congress without the IRS! :o)

  • 23%, thats ridiculous, I just did the calculator and I would pay $500 more in taxes. And, because you would be paying it at the register, people will buy less. If I had to pay another $23 on top of my $100 grocery bill, I wouldn't be able to afford to buy it. Too many low-income families would rack up credit debt with it.

  • I did the calculator on the Fair Tax website. We make 107,000 a year and would pay 4600 less a year in taxes after the prebate check. That would be fantastic to put into savings. We buy many things used so other than groceries which would not be taxed we would really have more of our money. The rich would pay more like viridian wants them too. They could not get around the tax code with the Fair Tax. It won't happen it makes too much sense.

  • I too, used the calculator and discovered we would have almost $20,000 MORE money in our hands!!!

Like I said, those who are not used to paying their "fair share" will not like this system. But for those of us who have being paying MORE than our fair share for YEARS, it would be a welcomed relief!!! :o)
