Hi My 2 year old son stools are very hard to pass he looks like he is in pain do you know what I can do? He's crying because it's hard for him to poop. PS: Yesterday he was running a fever

  • give him plenty of water and some chocolate cake. will make him poop.

  • Try apple juice or prune juice mixed with water.

  • Call the doctor and ask if you can give him a suppository.

  • See if you can get him to drink prune juice. My DD loves it and it solved all of her constipation problems.

  • Increase fluids
    Increase fiber in her diet (beans, broccoli, peas, bran cereals, high-fiber breads, crackers
    Increase exercise and movement
    Offer prunes, pears, plums, and peaches (the 4 Ps!)
    Offer two teaspoons of flax oil (high in Omega three fatty acids) per day

  • yeah what Gailll said.. try to stay away from apple juice it constipated my kids.. GOOD LUCK.

  • Stay away from bananas!!! These are horrible for constipation! Increase fluids, especially pear juice and prune juice. Fiber is essential. Oatmeal is a good source of fiber!

    If he appears to be uncomfy or in pain, try a warm bath and let him swim around or lay his tummy over your leg and rub his back. You can also rub his tummy in a circular motion. These types of massage, you can apply light pressure. You can also lay him on his back and bend his knees up to his tummy, then roll them around.
