The real meaning of Christmas (kinda from another post)

it's not about "togetherness", toys, lights or any of that crap, it's about the birth of Jesus...maybe instead of focusing on materialistic things teach the kids about the Lord. yes, i get my kids stuff but we also read the nativity story from dd's children's bible everyday up until christmas starting a week before then and on christmas day we have a small cake and sing happy bday to Jesus

  • Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I saw that post. I mean, I think that poster had the right idea in general, but missed the "actual" meaning of Christmas.

  • The traditional nativity story isn't what actually happened. Be warned, you're teaching falsehoods to your kids. Read them the Bible account not sentimental clap-trap.
