Does anyone know this answer about unemployment benefits?

When you have been on a long time lay off. Your employer pays you the vacation pay you have coming. Does it affect your unemployment check? I imajine it does. For how long?Do you put down the gross amount? If you get one months vacation pay. There's no one to call today. Other times you're placed on hold for long periods of time. Have you dealt with this issue perhaps?

  • yes put down the whole amount and you probably wont get anything for that month. it's best to do that instead of risking not getting any for lying.

  • It counts as income received for the week that you get the check. You will have to claim the income at the end of the week for that work week that you received it. It will not effect your benefits for the whole month, just that one week.

  • You report the gross amount of each check as vacation pay.

  • Look on your states website, and/or the unemployment book that they send you. It'll help better if you disclose what state you are in.
