Are you buying what their selling?

In an appearance at a Florida senior center, the Democratic leader referred to the so-called public option as “the consumer option.” Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., appeared by Pelosi’s side and used the term “competitive option.”
Both suggested new terminology might get them past any lingering doubts among the public – or consumers or competitors.
“You’ll hear everyone say, ‘There’s got to be a better name for this,’” Pelosi said. “When people think of the public option, public is being misrepresented, that this is being paid for with their public dollars.”…
“I think she’s going to go up and test-drive it when she goes back to Washington,” Wasserman Schultz said. “It might stick.”

  • It doesn't matter what they call it. It's still government run health care, and it is not going to be a good thing for the people of this country.

  • Isn't that kinda like buying a "pre-owned" car, rather than a used one? Or a house called a "handyman's special" rather than a trashed-out shack?

    Same crap, different name.

  • I don't buy that at all...sorry my loved ones aren't for sell.

When Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) was seeking state office a dozen years ago, he took unabashedly liberal positions: flatly opposed to capital punishment, in support of a federal single-payer health plan, against any restrictions on abortion, and in support of state laws to ban the manufacture, sale and even possession of handguns.

  • They are trying to dress up a pig it is still a pig. I think it is pathetic they think we are all so stupid. I guess some are they did elect Pelosi over and over again. Many of us are not and see through their stupid game they are playing with out lives and our money. Pelosi and others in the Congress won't be affected by this at all. They will still have their Cadillac plans that won't be taxed. So they don't give two shits about what this will do to the middle class.
