thanksgiving appetizers?

i'm in charge of the appetizers for the first time at thanksgiving this year. any suggestions? thanks!

  • My family always does a veggie tray with dip (great for snacking and not feeling guilty) and a tray with pickles, olives, and cheese. We also usually have tortilla roll ups - tortillas spread w/ cream cheese mixed with chopped black olives, chopped green chilis, and greek seasoning and then rolled and sliced. Sometimes we also have sausage balls made with Bisquick, sausage, and cheese. These are what my family expects.

    little smoky sausages wrapped in bacon and sprinkled with brown sugar are always a hit. Veggies and dip

  • Relish trays with cranberry, pickles, olives. Veggie tray and dip. Summer sausage, cheese, crackers tray. Cheese ball. Deviled eggs. Cocktail style meat balls.

    Here is a link to a puff pastry from Ina Garten that I am trying this year. Sounds good!

  • We usually have piglets in a blanket (take little smokies sausages and a roll of crescent roll dough. Cut the dough into 1/2" wide strips. Wrap around the little smokies and bake according to directions for the crescent rolls), ham and cream cheese pinwheels (mix 1 block cream cheese with 1 can diced green chilis. Spread about 2 tbsp of the mixture on a large flour tortilla. layer with thin sliced ham. Roll up, refrigerate for an hour at least, then cut into 1" wide pinwheels), devilled eggs (many good recipes on the internet), cheeseballs (again find a good recipe at www.allrecipes.com), a veggie tray, and spinach ranch dip with Kings Hawaiian sweet rolls.     I always take a big round loaf of Kings Hawaiian sweet bread, hollow it out, serve the dip in it with the hollowed out parts cut into cubes. So yummy!

  • take a tray and put down a one inch layer of cream cheese, then a half inch or so layer of the caramel dip topping that comes in a tub, then sprinkle with toffe candy bits. serve with granny smith apple slices for dipping. a girlfriend made this last night and it was worth all the lactose intolerance i have to eat it.
    use a small glass or small biscuit cutter to cut out little rounds from store bought puff pastry.
    place one roma tomato slice on the pastry and cover with your cheese of choice, some olive oil and italian seasonings. place in 350 degree oven for about 10-12 minutes and serve warm.
