when does your period come back?

How soon after giving birth does your period return? I just had my daughter is 1 month old and my bleeding is just now stopping, when can I expect an actual period? (I breastfed for two weeks, don't know if that makes a difference)

  • it varies soooo much. i don't think breastfeeding for 2 weeks will affect it much. my period started at 8 mos but i breastfed. some women who breastfeed get their period right away, and some women who don't have to wait a few months. :)

  • It varies from person to person and from pregnancy to pregnancy.
I had my son vaginally in Nov 2008. I breastfed for two weeks, then switched to formula. I had postpartum bleeding for a month. Then it stopped and a week later I got my first period.
