18 week anatomy scan?

So last time around my doc told me that i was to wait until 20 weeks to find out the sex. Since then i have changed doctors, they scheduled my anatomy scan for 18 weeks. Has anybody had a successful anatomy scan that early? Could you actually tell the sex clearly?

  • I got one at 18 weeks with my first, only because that was my original appointment so they went ahead and did it. With this one I have an appointment next wednesday and I will be 15 weeks 6 days-ish and hoping doctor will look and see if he can tell anything and I will still have my anatomy scan around 17-18 weeks.

  • Yes! All 3 of my pregnancies they did the anatomy scans at 14-16 weeks. My friend got hers at 14 weeks showing it was a boy and it was correct.

  • They told me mine was a boy at 16 weeks and again at 22 weeks and low and behold I had a girl like I was telling everyone all along. They did get my first child right at 22 weeks when they told me he was a boy, but I also already knew that one too.

  • I think 18 weeks is the standard time doctors do the anatomy scan. I was 18 weeks, 1 day with my first dd and 18, 3 days this time around
