  • your babies lungs are no where near ready yet, and if you induced labor now you are putting your child in severe risk.

a lot of doctors say once you are at 38 weeks, you are fine. BUT, every baby developes at a different rate, so your baby may not be ready at that point.

inducing at any time can produce problems, but when you are past due is when it is best for your baby. hang in there. the baby will come when its ready.

  • Be patient. In 9 weeks or so your baby will be here and sometime after you will probably miss that feeling of being pregnant. Right now the best place for your baby is safe and sound growing inside Mama. Try to enjoy this time as much as possible because you are in the home stretch!! GL.

  • OMG your ignorant. why the hell do you want to induce? there is no need for any woman to induce labor. let your body do what it is meant to do. which is labor naturally!

  • Past 42 weeks unless there is a medical need.

  • never. i hope you aren't serious about now. if a medical necessity comes up (very unlikely) then the risks might be outweighed but it is never "safe"

  • no, your baby is way too small now... she will gain alot of her weight over the next 9 weeks. you want her in their for as looonnng as possible. i know its hard.. but you have to do it for her.

  • That depends on what your definition of safe is.

    risks of induction:
Increased risk of abnormal fetal heart rate, shoulder dystocia and other problems with the baby in labor.
Increased risk of your baby being admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Increased risk of forceps or vacuum extraction used for birth.
    Increased risk of cesarean section.
Increased risks to the baby of prematurity and jaundice.

If you're okay with those risks, ...then any time after the 38 GUESSTIMATED weeks it would be "safe".
