  • plain... i'd use bottled water, ever now and then is okay as long as you don't substitute his feedings with water

  • he doesn't need water, he gets his liquid from breastmilk or formula, I wouldn;t give him water unless he is constipated or something

  • uh no don't give him water yet they told me that they get water from breat milk and formula... That's too early. Wait til you start giving him baby food then you can teach him that when he eats food you drink water... Its a good way to teach them early not to always drink juice or sodas! Buy nursery water you get a gallon for less than a dallor very healthy and clean! And don't give them cold water till you switch to more solid baby food because their tummy gets upset

  • I have read not to give water to babies for about the first six months- they are so little that even small amounts of water can screw up a babies sodium levels and make them sick. Your baby should only need formula or breast milk at this point, nothing else.

  • Babies do not need water - they get all the hydration they need from their milk (breastmilk or formula). When you first introduce a sippy cup, usually around 6 months when you introduce solid foods, you can use water to teach them to drink out of the cup, but until they are eating more than they are drinking their formula or breastmilk, water should not be a big part of their diets.

  • their little bellies are so small so in addition to what everyone said, water will fill them up and make them not want to drink their formula or breastmilk, which they need. water at this age is unnecessary.

  • They don't need it until they're at least 6 months, and sometimes not even then, unless YOUR doctor specifically says so for YOUR baby. Don't do it.

  • yea, sodium levels and electrolytes are disturbed in a nursing baby's system by giving them water
