Do you draw/paint a face on your pumpkin or cut a fancy face/design into it?

I've seen some pretty nice paintings on pumpkins this year. Not as many pumpkins are being cut as painted. I think the pumpkins were painted to keep them from rotting as fast. I like to save at least one pumpkin to use for baking pies and other goodies.

  • We usually carve the pumpkin. But at a pumpkin trail this year we saw that some people scrapped the pumpkin really thin and the light would shine through. It looked really cool. This year we have 3 pumpkins. I think we are going to carve one and scrap one and paint one. We are doing that this evening.
