Would macaroni and cheese turn green if you put blue food coloring in it?

  • do you want it green? Use a white cheddar for a homemade suace then you can alter the color.
    however it may not get eaten when it is colored.

  • If you want a particular shade of green, look in a craft store for coloring used for cake icing, they're paste colors instead of liquid so it wouldn't take as much. (Wilton and Americolor are both good.) Those colors stay true and actually darken as they sit. You could add it to the sauce before adding the noodles.

  • Using blue will make it kind of green - add a touch of green or yellow helps it to be a "true" green. My daughter LOVES when I make colored food for her - - green OJ, blue, blue milk, pink mashed potatoes. . . . LOL
