She doesn't want to potty in her diper anymore?

My daughter Kaylee turned one back on October 17th.
And for the past couple days, she doesn't want to potty in her diper.
She will secretly take off her pants/pj bottoms, take off her diper, Squat and tinkle on our floor. She's even taken her diper off in bed during the night. Thankfully she hasn't done it with number two yet!
Is this a sign of wanting to potty train?

  • This is a pretty common phase and is not necessarily a sign that she's ready to train. (One of my twins started that game at nap time when he was just over a year. He'd strip and pee all over his crib.)

Her bladder is still quite small and she's probably not really ready for all the steps involved with using the potty.

Go ahead and get a potty out and give her the opportunity to use it if she wants but keep her in diapers for now. You can always use duct tape or put a sleeper on backwards to help keep the diaper on.

  • Could be a phase but I would offer the potty. It is not unheard of for a child to want to potty train this early
