When you hit 9 points on your license, how long is it suspended for?

  • In Wisconsin it is 12 points. I really don't know how long. Your license can be suspended long before the points get docked from your license. In Wisconsin, you have to go to defensive driving school to get SOME of your points back, but you don't get them all back.

  • Depends on what state you're in and what the points are from. Most likely it's tiered - 90 days/180 days/etc. I worked with a girl who kept getting caught for speeding, something like 6 times in a month, so they added time to her suspension for habitual offender.

    IIRC, here it's something like 15 points automatic if you get caught driving without insurance. You can't get it back without retaking the written test.
