  • Oh! Oscar Wilde wrote a fabulous play called Salome about the beheading of John the Baptist. It's a tremendous work of art.

  • King Herod was having a birthday party. One of his Stepdaughter's was entertaining and he found her beauty to be breathtaking. So he promised her anything she named. She asked for the Head of John the Baptist. And so it was ordered. However I want to note that Herod was a saddened by this as he felt a great admiration for John. But he, as King, was forced to keep his word.
