DOES AGE MATTER?

I really dont understand why if a younger girl (under 18) wants to date an older man its frowned upon but a woman older than 18 can its basically like the man your dating is 10? years older than a you and your 21 so when he was 21 you were 11,,i dont understand? well i do i just dont get the ignorance of it.

i see your point though i dated a guy 10 years younger than me i was 28 and he was 18 and people frowned upon it but i have a friend who is 28 and he is datin someone who is 38 and everyone is ok with it... 10 years is 10 years difference and i know ppl who date guys 20 years older just think when they (the guys)were 20 the girlfriend was just being born....

  • An older man or woman should know better than to date a GIRL or BOY under 18--there are laws in place for this reason!

As for when two consenting adults over the age of 18 decide to date...IMO more than 15 years of an age gap is odd! Men with significantly younger girlfriends/wives are seen as men having "mid life crisis" or sporting a trophy wife. Whereas women who date significantly younger men are seen as trying to recapture their youth. Both are very superficial and rather laughable.

When the age difference is significant, it's interpreted as just a sex thing--at least it's true of the women and men that I have known that sport significantly younger boyfriends/girlfriends on their arms!

  • Ok, that question is really hard to follow, but are you asking why it's ok for a 21 year old to date a 31 year old but not ok for an 11 year old to date a 21 year old? Seriously? Because in the 1st case they are BOTH ADULTS and in the second case one is a CHILD!

  • agree with blueliner. adults can think straight(normally) a child cannot.this question is really silly.

  • An 18 year old is not the same age as a 20 year old. I know women like to think they are better than men that is simply not the case. I would question the maturity level of a man who wants to date a child though. They usually never grow up and trade in the women when they get too old.

  • adults can think straight ? seriously do you know how many women are in abusive relationships or are with guys that cheat on them left and right? i realize my question is hard to follow and it is not based on either ages i used..im just saying why is it not perverted for a 31 year old or whatever age will make you bashers happy to date a 21 year old? there is still that age gap?

  • notice i said (normally) ..your question really doesnt make much sense.if you arent referring to the ages you stated then why write those ages?its not perverted for a 31 year old to date a 21 year old because they are both adults. for a 31 year old to date an 11 year old is COMPLELTY different.

  • Because a 21 year old is a consenting adult! An 11 year old is not! This is a ridiculous question.
