Is corn a fruit or a vegetable?

  • Legally corn is a vegetable; the United States Supreme court named tomatoes vegetables in the same ruling.  Corn is botanically speaking a fruit though, each kernal being is own seed.  A fruit is the mature "egg" of a flower.

    and because so many cows and other read meats are fed so much corn it's really not all that healthy for you.

  • It's a fruit. When I was in school I learned that anything with seeds that you can see by just cutting is fruit. No one believed me, then we saw it at the science center. so tomato cucumber.... everything is "fruit" It is the fruit of the plant
