  • Propping bottles isn't a good idea anyway. What if he got choked up and couldn't get the bottle out of his mouth. Soon enough he will be holding his own bottle anyway. I say don't worry about it and hold him for now. Just my opinion tho. Do whatever you feel is right its ur kid afterall.

  • I always found a way to use a receiving blanket or two to get it to stay. But I never really did it until they were a little older and kind of had their hands up there to help as well even if they weren't holding it.

  • That's one theory breast fed babies are said to have higher IQ's, bonded better with mom, etc., because formula fed babies (not all, but a lot) are just left to eat on their own and there is no contact. Hold him and love up on him while he eats. He isn't going to be little forever.

  • It's bad enough to bottle feed, at least hold your baby while you are doing it. You should hold your baby near your breasts and gaze at your baby. Switch sides during the feeding or every other feeding. It helps eye development.

  • Try giving the baby back to his mother to feed him. She should care enough to hold him.

  • Propping a bottle is outright lazy parenting and very dangerous!!! Anon 4:09 theory is right on. Touching a child is needed for natural growth hence one of the many reasons baby is designed to breastfeed. Hold your child and feed him the way he deserves and truthfully needs.

  • Please don't... Just take the extra time to hold your baby it really does not take that much time to feed them properly.... He or She will not be little forever and you can't get that time back..
