Will I go into labor late?

I'm 38 weeks now. I've been measuring about 1 week behind since 20 weeks. My belly is kind of small. The Dr. did a sonogram and said her weight is perfect. Since I am measuring a week behind, does that mean the baby will come a week late? Ahhh, I just can't wait anymore. I'm so afraid of the flu, I'm ready to be induced today.

  • You are most likely to deliver between 38-42 weeks, that's where the average ("due date" comes from. Measuring "smaller" doesn't mean you'll birth after the 42 week mark.
Thank goodness these are all just averages, we all different.

  • Well, the average first time mom delivers at 41 weeks. Considering the average mom is "late", the average is wrong. Inducing has its risks. More so than catching the flu.
