If gays can marry

Why can't poltyamists have rights too? They raise secure loving families. They pay taxes. They contribute to society just as much as gays. They are no different. Humans. Americans. Tax Paying. Family Raising.

I say for every right gays receive!! So shall polygamists. It's only fair, right?

  • A marriage is a contract between two parties. I believe that most polygamy situations are not good or healthy for the kids involved and many times not good for the women involved.

Many believe that gay relationships are not good or healthy for kids involved either. Why should marriage only be between two people other than just based on your opinion of a lifestyle you really don't know anything about? In the FLDS religion women are treated badly. Most polygamists are not FLDS. My dad was the CEO of a very large company sometimes he is still brought on CNN as a news analyst. No one knows he is a polygamist. He has to hide that or he would have lost his job. There are many more like him out there. Good providers and husbands who just happen to have more than one wife. I even know women with more than one husband. So it is good to know gays rights are not about equal rights just gay rights.

  • I've always thought they should be able to marry. They are consenting adults after all.

  • Why not allow family members in consenting relationships to marry as well? Don't use the arguement of defective children either. That is still rare in families who do have children together. If there is a genetic disorder that could happen but still is not all that more likely than with non relative relationships. Children are also not the reason for marriage according to most it is to marry someone you want to share your life with for many reasons. Why stop at gay marriage or polygamy. If love is love why not let any consenting adult marry any other consenting adult and as many as they want? Why special rights for hetero couples and potentially gay couples and not everyone else?

  • op, make it your own plight but don't add them to gay marriage, two plus two don't make 3, or 4, or 5. It is a category all by itself.
