My 4 month old son was sleeping through the night very well, but suddenly he started waking up in the middle of the night again. Is this normal and how do I get him back on schedule?

  • Is he waking up to feed? If so, he may be going through a growth spurt.

  • It is likely a growth spurt...make sure he gets plenty to eat before bed and if you do have to get up with him in the middle of the night...make it short and sweet...no playtime, singing, etc...just feed him and back to bed. You don't want to encourage middle of the night wakings to socialize with mommy. =)

  • He could also be teething. My daughter started teething at 4 months and would wake up once or twice a night. I'd give her some teething tablets and/or tylenol and put her back to sleep.
